In a rapidly changing world, youth across the globe face the challenges of acquiring appropriate employability skills. However, there lies a peculiarity in finding a suitable solution. The challenges of today’s youth are fundamentally different from those that previous generations faced.
The situation is not different with the youth of our nation. A half of India’s population is of the active working age, while a fifth of our citizens are youth who are ready to enter the workforce. Saksham is our initiative to provide modern and employable skills training to the youth across India. We strive to reach out to diverse segments in the society, especially the women, marginalised communities, tribals and rural youth.
Often, most of the beneficiaries at our centres are first-generation workforce to enter the organized sector or even entrepreneurship. Hence, emphasis is placed on both life and soft skills, besides technical skill training. This extra effort gives them a life-long competitive edge.
So far, the outcome of this short journey has been encouraging for us and life-changing for the beneficiaries. We are hopeful that our mantra of collaboration and complementation shall play a larger role in enabling the youth to build their future and make them play deserving roles in nation-building.
